At right, the new fire truck that Fire Chief Larry Simms secured through a FEMA grant last year. Through grant writing, our very talented Chief has secured a great deal of financial support for our district and the surrounding area. MEMBER NEWS

Gary Mobbs received the Firefighter of the Year Award from the North Idaho Fire Chiefs Association at their annual training academy in April. Gary has helped our community for 28 years as a member of the fire department. Last year he became the first non-duty member of the Sheriff dive rescue team. Also this year, Gary worked with the Hauser Lions and the Fire Auxiliary and through their generous donations was able to purchase an ice rescue sled for the department.
